Blogging a rare installation we did together as contractors a few years back. We were asked to drive to Solihull to fit a lounge / diner for a doctor. We were paid to fit the carpet only (not supply). It was a special order Bronte carpet 10mtrs wide and 10mtrs long. Delivered in an arctic lorry using a fork lift truck to get it in the house. It took 6 of us to drag it across the floor. The 7 meter wide piece weighing more than quarter of a tonne had to be cut around a £100.000 marble dining table with some mirror image 45 degree angles and joined back together. Still to this day I don’t know how we did it. This carpet cost £28000 and it wasn’t one we wanted to cut short or do a bad join in lol.
Bronte carpet. Blast from the past.
